How is Diatomaceous earth used to kill ants naturally without harming pets, children or birds?

Diatomaceous earth
Diatomaceous earth are actually the fossilized remains of Diatom which is a type of hard-shelled algae, and they are typically used as a filtration aid, mild abrasive in products such as metal polishes and toothpaste, mechanical insecticides, absorbent for liquids, matting agent for coatings, reinforcing filler in plastics and rubber, and anti-block in plastic films. Diatomaceous earth is also used as a natural pesticides and in our case this is helpful to kill ants the natural ways.

Due to the increased use of chemical pesticides some insects have become resistant to the pesticides and so this organic natural pesticides called Diatomaceous earth is helpful in killing insects and also reducing the amount of environment toxins from using chemical pesticides. Ants has exoskeleton which is damaged by the Diatomaceous earth because of its abrasive characteristics and the ants' waxy coating on its outer body layer can't resist but breaks apart slowly. This doesn't happen instantly in some cases for days, for Diatomaceous earth to start working on the ants body but its a sure shot once the ants comes in contact with it. As the ants walks across the Diatomaceous earth, it's body picks up Diatomaceous earth unintentionally and this gets lodged into their exoskeleton joints. Then as the ants continue moving, the sharp abrasive property of Diatomaceous earth comes into play and cuts up the ants' body slowly. After a while the ants' body is so cut up that it can't survive anymore and dies off.

Diatomaceous earth has a drying out property which absorbs the waxy coating layer of the ants and deprive ants' body of moisture. Later the ants' body dries out and it can't survive without much moisture in its body left. Since food Diatomaceous earth is something that we humans can eat, so it is pretty safe for pets, children, birds.

What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
